Teen Up Mission - Becoming better decision makers is the beginning steps to
“Man-ing up”, but as our young people are not men and women yet, we teach them to “Teen up” or rise to the occasion. "Teen Up" was created by Marlon Shackelford and Tommy Owens and has experienced phenomenal growth and is well received and widely recognized throughout the nation.
Marlon C. Shackelford has spent the past twenty years building the esteem of young people throughout the United States. As a former Associate Professor for the College of Violence Interruption Process in Chicago, Illinois, and one of the nations top 100 Violence Prevention Specialists under the Clinton Administration from 1994-2000, he addresses young audiences on topics of substance abuse, unemployment, homelessness, crime/violence prevention, educational deficits and a number of other important issues. In addition to addressing the crucial issues of our day, Shack motivates youth to respect themselves and others, while stressing the value of making wise and healthy choices that will affect them throughout their lives. He holds seventeen certifications in various violence prevention models.
